Academic Program Reviews

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is required to periodically review all academic programs for both the Academic Planning Committee (APC) and the Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education (CCPE).

To meet the goals and objectives of the Board of Regents to maintain UNL’s mission of excellence, the review process has several components:

  • internal self-study
  • external review of the program
  • final report that provides a clear plan for applying the results of the review
  • specific responses to the review developed by the vice chancellor, deans, and department heads.

Academic program reviews are led by the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor in collaboration with the department and deans office. The Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor maintains a master APR schedule, which is based on a 7 year rotation.
